College Advising

The mission of the Office of College Advising is to counsel, educate, support, and advocate on behalf of the students at Palmer Trinity School. It is our goal through this student-centered process to help our students find the best “fit” university and to guide our students to the university that will provide them the best experience and the opportunity to be the most successful academically and socially.

This process is a partnership involving the counselor, students, and parents, but the expectation is that students will take ownership of the process. We firmly believe that as our students explore options, do research, become accountable for the process, and make decisions about their future, they will develop life-long lessons that will continue to serve them well into their university careers and beyond.

All of our college counselors have experience working in selective university admission offices throughout the country. This experience has given us a broader perspective as we have all sat on admission committees with university faculty and made admission decisions. We understand the process on both sides of the desk. Each year counselors from our office visit countless universities both in North America and abroad not only to be the best possible resource to our students but also to build relationships with college admission staff. In total, our staff brings over 50 years of experience in college admission.

On our page you will find countless resources, most important of which is our College Counseling Handbook. We have created the handbook in order to provide you with a comprehensive guide to both college admissions in general as well as the college counseling process and timeline at Palmer Trinity School.

We look forward to beginning this journey with your family.

Sincerely,

The College Counseling Team
