Jim DeFede speaks at PTS about Journalism in the Election Season

As part of the Mosaic program, PTS welcomed Jim DeFede to speak about journalism, in light of the election season. DeFede addressed students who raised questions concerning the integrity of the media, the principles of fairness, and the identification of trustworthy news sources. DeFede recommended viewing different types of media perspectives, and shared that journalism has the power to change the public perception of events or people. He recognized that although there are limitations present within news organizations, he underscored that a good reporter should not sway the audience with their own biases.⁠
